Vortex Improves Clear Action Gate Valve
EP Editorial Staff | October 28, 2013
Vortex Corp. announces three improvements to its Clear Action gate valve. First, the valve body can now be sealed, preventing material leakage into the space around the valve. Second, the valve’s air purge mechanism now reduces material migration into the valve body. Finally, to ease maintenance, shims can now be added or removed while the valve is in-line.
Vortex’s self-cleaning Clear Action gate valves handle powders, granular material or pellets in gravity flow or pneumatic conveying systems. Mounted horizontally, the machined square-edged blade mechanically clears the material from the sealing surfaces on each closing cycle, allowing it to discharge beneath the valve. The square blade and seal design eliminates the open cavities where material collects in traditional gate valves. For more information, click here.
