Eaton Releases Newest Version of Electrical Protection Handbook

eaton0714newsPower management company Eaton today released the newest version of its Selecting Protective Devices (SPD) electrical handbook, giving the electrical industry a practical guide on product applications based on the 2014 National Electrical Code (NEC®). The advanced technical resource covers the selection and application of overcurrent protective devices, including code, standard and regulatory compliance.

This handbook helps engineers, contractors, inspectors, original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), users and electricians select the right devices for all types of applications, keeping safety and efficiency as top priorities.

The 268-page handbook has been enhanced with updated sections on Fuseology; Servicing and Maintenance; Component Protection; Industrial Control Panels; Short-Circuit Current Rating (SCCR); Selective Coordination; Electrical Safety; and Fuses for Hazardous Locations, Photovoltaic (PV) Systems and Data Centers. It also includes a Fuse Sizing Guide that considers load characteristics and NEC requirements when specifying main, feeder and branch circuit fuses.
