Milwaukee Tool Goes ‘High-Demand’ & ‘Compact’ in Game-Changing Power Packs for Cordless Lineups

Jane Alexander | August 3, 2016

According to Wisconsin-based Milwaukee Tool (Milwaukee), its M18 REDLITHIUM HIGH DEMAND 9.0 Battery Pack “will completely shatter cordless-tool expectations.” The company says this soon-to-be-released “game-changer” can deliver up to 5-times more run-time and 35% more power, while running 60% cooler than standard lithium-ion batteries in the cordless solutions from Milwaukee’s extensive M18 System. Those capabilities, in turn, translate as more work per charge and more work over the life of the battery pack.

The HIGH DEMAND 9.0 pack is optimized for high-draw offerings in the company’s M18 FUEL lineup that require substantial and sustained power and run-time for applications such as drilling, chipping, cutting, and grinding. Fully compatible with all offerings in Milwaukee’s M18 System, it will be available for purchase in Fall 2016 as an accessory for that system and in select M18 FUEL kits.

Here Now
Milwaukee Tool’s preview announcement on the HIGH DEMAND 9.0 Battery Pack for its M18 System of cordless solutions follows closely on the heels of its recent launch of a REDLITHIUM Compact 3.0 Battery (CP3.0) for the company’s M12 System of sub-compact offerings.

According to the manufacturer, this small-footprint power pack significantly expands capabilities in high-frequency cordless applications without sacrificing the weight of the tool. Specifically, upgrading to the CP3.0 doubles the run-time offered by the system-standard M12 1.5Ah pack.

Typical applications include light drilling and fastening work, press tools, and personal lighting. The CP3.0 is also well suited for use with the company’s Heated Gear (clothing) and radios.

Sold as an accessory item, the REDLITHIUM Compact 3.0 Battery is compatible with all cordless solutions in Milwaukee’s M12 System.
