Schneider Electric Expands Industrial-Software Subscription Access Offering

Jane Alexander | October 4, 2017

Schneider Electric (Lake Forest, CA) has announced an expansion of its industrial-software subscription licensing model, Subscription Access.  According to the company, customers that choose this offering can benefit from reduced upfront costs, ease of license-fee management, access to exclusive products, bundled capabilities, and a lower total cost of ownership.

Subscription Access is now available when purchasing software solutions for Engineering, Planning, Operations, and Asset Performance, as well as for Control and Information.

Schneider Electric offers a host of technologies and solutions that enable both commercial and technical flexibility, delivered through a range of technical deployment models (Cloud, Hybrid, On-Premise) and commercial purchase options (Subscription, SaaS, Perpetual). Its a la carte Subscription Access approach gives buyers greater flexibility to choose precisely the software applications and scale that is needed. Future software licenses can be easily added to an existing agreement, simplifying how new functionality or users are added or removed. Upfront costs are replaced with annual payments spread over the term of the agreement. As a result, capital expenditures are replaced with ongoing operating expenses, helping better align cost to value while easing approval processes for Operations Technology (OT) purchases.

Subscription Access includes Schneider Electric’s Customer FIRST support and maintenance program that includes comprehensive software upgrades and maintenance.
