1) Who we are & what this policy covers
Efficient Plant (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates https://efficientplantmag.com/. We publish editorial content that helps adults compare and understand online gaming and related services. Our coverage includes iGaming brands and other affiliate-supported topics. We explain how casinos and sportsbooks are evaluated—such as licensing (e.g., offshore regulators like Curaçao), game variety, payment speeds, security, mobile usability, and customer support—and we may earn compensation when readers click an affiliate link and take an action with a partner.
This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, how we use it, how we share it, and your choices.
2) What we collect
We aim to collect only what we need to run the site and measure performance.
- Browsing & device data. When you visit, our systems and service providers may automatically receive: IP address, pages viewed, time on page, links clicked (including outbound “link-out” events), referring/exit pages, approximate location (derived from IP), device/OS/browser type, screen resolution, language, and cookie or similar IDs.
- Cookies & tracking parameters. We use cookies, pixels, and URL parameters (e.g., UTMs, click IDs) to understand traffic sources, attribute affiliate commissions, limit or personalize ads, and improve content.
- No sensitive categories. We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information (such as precise geolocation, health, or biometric data).
We do not offer user accounts or take payments on this site. We do not knowingly collect information from children (see Section 9).
(Newsletter, contact forms, and user comments are not currently offered on the site. If we add them in the future, we will update this Policy.)
3) How we use information
We use the information above to:
- Operate, secure, and maintain our website (including preventing fraud, abuse, and spam);
- Measure traffic and improve our articles, rankings, and site experience;
- Debug, monitor performance, and fix errors;
- Personalize or cap ads and measure ad/affiliate performance;
- Attribute affiliate commissions when you click a partner link and later take an action on that partner’s site;
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
4) Cookies & tracking
Cookies are small files stored on your device by your browser. Pixels, tags, and scripts help us recognize visits, remember preferences, understand how readers use our site, and attribute affiliate referrals. Affiliate links may include unique IDs or parameters so a partner can credit us for a qualifying action.
Your controls:
- Most browsers let you block or delete cookies; doing so may affect site functionality.
- You can use private/incognito mode to limit cookie storage.
- We honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals, where feasible, as an opt-out of “sale”/“sharing” (see Section 7).
If your browser or device provides a “Do Not Sell or Share”/GPC signal, we will treat it as a request to opt out of cross-context behavioral advertising and similar “sharing” as that concept is defined under California law.
5) Advertising, analytics & affiliates
We use standard analytics and may work with advertising and affiliate partners. This can include:
- Analytics to measure visits and understand content performance;
- Ad services (display or programmatic) to deliver and measure ads, including limited personalization or frequency capping;
- Affiliate networks/partners to track when a reader clicks a link to a partner and later completes a qualifying action. Those links carry IDs or parameters that allow partners to attribute referrals and compensate us.
We may receive compensation when you click an affiliate link or complete an action (for example, registering or depositing with a partner). Partners’ data practices are governed by their own privacy policies.
6) Sharing of information
We share information only as needed to run the site and comply with law:
- Service providers. Hosting, security/anti-abuse, analytics, measurement, and similar vendors that help us operate the site under contracts that limit their use of data.
- Advertising & affiliate partners. Ad tech and affiliate platforms receive limited data (such as cookie IDs or click-through parameters) to deliver, measure, or attribute ads and referrals.
- Legal/compliance. We may share information if required by law, to respond to lawful requests, or to protect rights, safety, and our terms.
We do not sell personal information for money. Under California law, some of our uses of analytics, ads, and affiliate measurement may be considered a “share” or “sale” of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. You can opt out (see Sections 4 and 7).
7) How to exercise your rights:
- Enable the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal in your browser; we treat it as an opt-out of “sale/share.”
- Use your browser’s cookie controls to disable or delete non-essential cookies.
- If we publish a “Your Privacy Choices” or “Do Not Sell or Share” link in our site footer, you can use it to manage state-law opt-outs.
- If you need additional assistance, please use the contact method provided on our website (see Section 12).
Verification & appeals: We may take reasonable steps to verify your request (for example, confirming control of the browser/device used). If we deny your request, you may submit an appeal by contacting us and including “Appeal” in the subject line or message.
8) Data retention & security
- Retention. We keep analytics data for up to 24 months and server logs for up to 12 months, unless a longer period is necessary for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, or debugging. Affiliate records may be kept as required by our partners or for accounting.
- Security. We use reasonable safeguards such as HTTPS, access controls, and regular software updates. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9) Children’s privacy
Our content is for adults 21+. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 21. If you believe a minor has provided us information, please use the contact method on our site so we can delete it.
10) Third-party links & disclaimers
Our articles link to external sites (including casinos, sportsbooks, and advertisers). We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their privacy practices. Please review their privacy policies before providing information or completing transactions.
11) Changes to this policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll revise the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the updated Policy.
12) Contact
If you have privacy questions or want to exercise a right and cannot do so through the controls described above, please use the contact method provided on our website (for example, via a link in the footer).
13) Not legal advice
This Policy is for general informational purposes and is not legal counsel. If you need legal advice, consult an attorney.
