PipePatrol leak-detection software uses the Real Time Transient Model (RTTM) with a leak-pattern-recognition module to create an Extended Real Time Transient Model (E-RTTM).
The multi-method leak detection provides pipeline management under steady and transient pipeline conditions. The software is said to reliably distinguish between real leaks and imbalance deviations caused by line-fill changes or separation units.
