3M Introduces New Fall Protection Full Body Harness with Scotchgard Protector

Melissa Larson | March 13, 2015

3M has released its newest fall protection full body harness line developed with 3M’s revolutionary stain repellent, Scotchgard Protector. The protectant is applied to the fibers of the new Economy Harness webbing to help repel liquids and prevent stains. This innovative intersection of 3M technology provides a durable, all-purpose harness for general construction, oil and gas, utilities, roofing and HVAC where performance, protection and comfort is paramount.

Rated to 400 pounds, the new Economy Harness line has expanded size offerings including XS, Universal and XXL. Easy-to adjust straps make it adjustable for many body sizes, shapes and weight and the lightweight materials offer increased comfort, flexibility and ease-of-use for wearers.

The X-shaped backplate paired with lanyard keepers help reduce potential entanglement for workers at height, and makes donning and doffing easier. The Economy Harness line has withstood rigorous testing and meets ANSI Z359.1-2007 and CSA Z259.10-2012 standards as well as the requirements of OSHA 20 CFR 1910.66 and 1926.502 regulations.

The Scotchgard Protector resists water and stains, helping the harness look newer for longer. Additionally, the vibrant orange color of the harness paired with high-contrast stitching allows for easy inspection for wear/damage.

3M offers a comprehensive, diverse portfolio of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) solutions providing fall protection, respiratory protection, hearing protection, reflective materials for high-visibility apparel, protective clothing, protective eyewear, head and face protection, welding helmets, and other adjacent products and solutions such as detection, monitoring equipment, active communications equipment and compliance management.
