T&B Debuts Cable Tray Super-Duty Splice Plate

The T&B Cable Tray Super-Duty Splice Plate, from Thomas & Betts (T&B), reduces costs by eliminating the need for additional supports at the expansion joint that the National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) would otherwise recommend. It also can be used for mid-span splicing.
The plate also eliminates the need to drill and install additional hardware on the flange, saving additional installation time. It also features nylon washers that facilitate movement by reducing friction and require no lubrication of the side rail during installation or maintenance. The reinforced design provides rigidity, resistance and strength, and allows for true contraction and expansion under full loads.
Made of high-strength, heat-treated aluminum, it is 13 in. (330 mm) wide and rated for 6-in. aluminum side rails (Series AH36-AH66). The plate is pre-drilled for expansion and mid-span applications, and is supplied with all hardware needed for both types of installations.
